New - "View Location Detail Information"
New - "View Region detail Information"

Location and Region Detail Information has been added to the CIMS database.

This information is available for most locations in the database - as well as two regions (United States and Canada).

Users can select a location to view the detailed information, which includes:

  • General Location Information
  • Startup of new crude
  • Companies operation at that location
  • Supply and Disposition Statistics

General Location Information

Angola is located in South Africa and is sub-Saharan Africa's second largest oil producer behind Nigeria. It is bordered by the DRC, Namibia, Zambia, and the Republic of Congo.

Location Update Information (from the PTI Intelligence Reports)
(Mar 2010) Two new oil discoveries have been made offshore Angola in block 15/06. The Nzanza-1 well tested at 1.6 kBD of 18 API oil and indicates a future production potential in excess of 5 kBD. The Cinguvu-1 well tested at 6.4 kBD of 23 API oil. Both wells lie about 220 miles NW of Luanda in 1400 meters of water. (Ngoma, discovered in 2008, was the first field announced in Block 15/06.)
